Real-world data can significantly impact medical practices. Examples are the identification of risk factors for diseases (PMID: 38631094) or comparison of treatment outcomes (PMID: 38798074, PMID: 38182782). In this consolidation course you will learn what research questions can be addressed using real-world-data, will formulate your own research question, and then learn how to build cohorts, retrieve and interpret the obtained data. You will then learn how to present your data using state-of-the-art methods, and you will start to draft your own manuscript. • Introduction into real-world-data exemplified by the TriNetX platform • Possible research questions that can be addressed using real-world-data • How to use Graph-Pad Prism and Adobe Illustrator • Formulate your own epidemiological research question, e.g.: o What is the impact of weight loss or weight gain on complex diseases? o Compare the impact of different treatments on disease progression o Define risks of substance abuse • Generate queries on the TriNetX platform • Retrieve and interpret the obtained data • Generate display items (tables and figures) using state of the art tools (Graph-Pad, Adobe Illustrator) • Start to draft a manuscript based on your findings
